Arduino Nano Every use TX as GPIO while receiving serial data on RX?

Hi, quick question,

Can I use the TX pin as a digital input or output if I am receiving serial data through the RX pin?

I am building a MIDI input device (so no transmitting necessary) and I can do with one more GPIO pin if possible.
